These Spicy Edamame Beans are a favorite snack of mine at The Lazy Dog Cafe. It is this great chain of restaurants here in Orange County, California that have patio areas where dogs are welcome.
This little guy gets a special treat every so often and joins me for a nice dinner outside. Jack is such a social dog and is constantly making new friends for us. The food is good too!
But back to these tasty Spicy Edamame snacks. They are spicy and slightly sweet. After I tasted them I knew I had to recreate these at home. It took some digging but I think I’ve come pretty close. The secret ingredient is a Japanese spice named Togarashi.
Edamame are soybeans and this dish is high in protein, vitamin c, iron and calcium. These are sauteed quickly and the you add a little soy sauce and orange zest. Serve them with napkins because it can get a bit messy!
